THE PUKEHANGA OUTRAGE.

Guahahstown, Friday. The following pigeon message has just been read from the meeting of the Council of Tribes, inquiring into the shooting ; Paeroa, Friday. Two committees have been sitting separately all day, going through the voluminous mass of evidence taken by the nmanga. As their deliberations have been strictly private, it is impossible to say yet what progress they have made. It is thought, however, that the proceeding will be over to-morrow. Later. The committees will make their presentment to the assembly of chiefs to-moirow morning, at 10 o’clock. It is stated that the committee consisting of the old men will insist on the culprits being given up to justice.
