MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.
A meeting of creditors of Edward True was called for yesterday, at the office of Messrs. Baker Brothers, to consider the debtor’s application for discharge. There was no atten-. dance, and no opposition was offered to the proposed application. A meeting of creditors of Henry Dnun was called for yesterday, but in consequence of no " quorum being present, it stands adjourned till to-day. ... A meeting of creditors was called for yesterday in the estate of Morton Quin, but neither . debtor nor creditors were present, the first be- ( ing in gaol. A meeting of the creditors of K. Everest was also called, and was fixed for 2 p.m., but after waiting the usual half-hour, it was adjourned until the same time to-day for want _ of a quorum. The persona present were the bankrupt and his solicitor, air. Ollivier, and two creditors only. A meeting of creditors ; of Mr. Thomas Erwin, Theatre Koyal Hotel, was held at the office of Mr. Ollivier, on Wednesday, Mr. A. A. Barnett in the chair. The liabilities were ’ stated to be £IOO7, and assets £2480, leaving a credit surplus of £I4BO. Mr. Ur win explained that he had backed bills for people who - had since gone insolvent, and now had to pay ’• them. He was ' being pressed by Messrs. ' Johnston and- Go., so he had been compelled to ’ call the meeting to explain his position. He was confident that in twelve months he could pay 20s. in the pound. He thought Mr. Staples would guarantee ss. in three months, . and another ss. in six months, and he himself would guarantee another ss. in nine months. , Mr. Staples said he would like time to con- . eider the matter ; and after .some discussion an adjournment was made to Tuesday next.
