Sailed : Ladybird. m DUNEDIN, Tuesday, Sailed ; Renfrewshire, barque, for Tlmaru; Millwall, ship, for Victoria. BLUFF, Tuesday. The s.s. Tararualeft Melbourne at 3.45 p*m. on the sth, and arrived at Hobart Town at 2.45 on the 7th ; left again at 5.15 p.m., passed the Slanders at 6 p.m. on the 11th, and arrived here at daylight this morning : experienced strong head sea and thick weather during the passage. Passengers for Wellington—Miss Mastcn, Mrs. Delago. Messrs. McLean, Moor, and 0 steerage. Cargo—9l tons. The following vessels were in port last night:— H.M.S. Emerald. Steamers—Rangatira, Tui, Stella, Kiwi, and Grafton. Ships—Pleione and Pareora. Barques—Chaudiere, Bcemah, Loch Cree, Australlnd, and Western Belle. Brig—Neptune. Mr. John Hobart, boatbuilder, of Grainger-streot, has now in his shed a surf-boat, built to the order of Captain Johnston, of the Marine Department, for the steamer Stella. Her dimensions are 24 feet overall and G feet 2 inches beam. She Is a strong, serviceable boat, built entirely of New Zealand seasoned timber, a.nd is fitted with Captain Thompson's patent rowlocks. This will be the fifth boat which Mr, Hobart has built to the order of the Government. The steamer Patea arrived here at 230 p.m. yesterday from Patea. She will return to the same port this evening. The ship Pleione will be towed round to the Patent Slip this morning for cleaning and painting. She Will be ballasted while on the slip, and may be expected to sail for Newcastle at the end of this week. The steamer Manawatu sailed for Wanganui at 10 o’clock last night. , The steamer Kiwi did not sail for Napier and East Coast ports yesterday, being unable to ship cargo owing to the wet weather. She Is advertised to sail at 4 p.m. to-day, The steamer Napier arrived in harbor early yesterday morning from Blenheim. She returned at 12 o'clock last night to the same port. The steamer Tui, from AVanganul, arrived in harbor at 4 a.m. yesterday, after a fair passage of 12 hours. She sails for Wanganui again at noon to-day. Thq Union Company’s steamer Wellington is due here to-day from Picton and Nelson, She will leave again for the same ports on Friday. The Government steamer Stella left Napier at 4.30 p.m. on Monday, and arrived in harbor at 2 p.m, yesterday. She experienced fine weather till off Capo Pulliser, when the wind sprang up from, the southward, accompanied with heavy rain. The Union Company’s steamer Rotorua from Sydney via Russell, Auckland, and intermediate ports, is due here to-morrow, and the Tararua from Melbourne and Hobarton, via the South, od Friday. The steamer Wanganui from Nelson and West Coast ports should arrive here at an early hour this morning. She sails South at noon to-day. The brig Neotune is advertised to ?all for Newcastle to-morrow, and the barque Australind on Saturday, The steamer Rangatira will bo towed round from the slip to the wharf this morning by the steamer Jane Douglas. She will leave for Wanganui, Taranaki, and Manukau at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The steamer Jane Douglas left Lyttelton at 5 p.m. on Monday, reached Kaikoura at 3.40 a m. yesterday, sailed again at 8 a.m., arriving in harbor at 3.30 p.m. She will tow {the ship Pleione round to the slip in the morning, and sails for Foxton and Rangitikel during the afternoon I
