THE WORKING MEN’S RIGHTS LEAGUE.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sin, —Allow me to reply to your correspondent “Ad Oaptandum.” In his letter he states—“ That the so-called Liberal League can take their stand on the half-crown ticket for admission to their ranks. The ‘ Working Men’s Rights League ’ will nevertheless carry their ends fairly by ‘ hook ’ or by ‘ Crook,’ or without the latter, who took a deal of trouble to question the figures on the immigration question, which are within the grasp of any fool." Whoever this highly intelligent correspondent of yours may be I know not; but I might tell him that the Working Men’s Rights League and the Liberal League are not opposed to each other, but are closely united and intend to pull in the same boat towards the same goal. 1 wonder why “Ad Oaptandum” was not wisehead enough to get on to the platform on Saturday night and quote figures, as well as Mr, Crook, if it is such an easy task. I can tell your correspondent that Mr. Crook is respected by the working classes, as was shown by the manner in which his speech was received. I wish I could say the same for the coward who attacks a man under the nom de plume of “Ad Captaudum.”—l am) &c., C. E. Hylton. Wellington, August 12.
