MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.

A meeting of creditors was held in the estate of George Ray, plumber, Courtenayplaoe ; Air. E. Gorton was appointed trustee. A meeting of creditors in the estate of James Ranson, builder, was held yesterday in the Supreme Court House, to consider a proposal made by Mr. Alace. After some discussion it was agreed to convey the two houses in Boulcott-street to that gentleman, to satisfy his claim as second mortgagee; the estate further paying to him the sum of £SO, conditionally on hia relinquishing any claim on the proceeds of machinery sold, and forfeiting all claims against the estate, of whatever nature, as a secured or unsecured creditor.

A private meeting of creditors in the estate of Mr. Da via, photographer, Cuba-street, was held yesterday. From the statement of the debtor it appeared that his liabilities amounted to £3OO, and his assets to £2O. Mr. Jepson, a gentleman employed at Thompson, Shannon, and Co.’s, who had a claim on the debtor for over £2OO, offered to guarantee 2s. 6d. in the pound, to be paid in three months. The proposal was accepted by all those present, except Me-srs. Brandon and Son, who represented the Bank of New South Wales, as the solicitors to the bank had not received sufficient instructions to enable them to assent to the proposed arrangement, A meeting was held in the estate of J. B. Colder, watchmaker, Masterton. Mr. Sellar, of the firm of Sellar and Hale, Masterton, was appointed trustee. A meeting was held in the estate of It. M. McDowell, miner, Westport. It was resolved to appoint Sir. S. Carroll trustee. The meetings of creditors in the estate of C. B. Williamson, commission agent, and J. B. Eteveneaux, carpenter, which were to have been held yesterday, were adjourned till today, in consequence of the non-attendance of creditors.
