We have the best authority for stating that no necessity exists for the passing of a Loan Bill before the next mail goes out. An arrangement has been made with the Bank of New Zealand for meeting present necessities, and no stipulation was made that the Bill should be passed in the hurried fashion proposed. The statement that the credit of the colony is at stake was simply a very dangerous party trick. When the Premier of the colony resorts to such devices to postpone the consideration of a vote of censure on his own conduct and that of his colleagues, the public can measure his zeal for the credit of tfre colony.
