H M. g-nboat Sandfly sailed for Sydney yesterday afternoon. The steamer Huia arrived in harbor at 3.30 a.m, yesterday. She left Lyttelton at 0 p.m. on Snnday, and Kaikoura at 5 p.m. on Monday. The Huia sailed for Foxton last evening. The steamers Stormbird and Tui sailed for Wanganui at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The steamer Wellington is due here to-morrow morning from Picton and Nelson. She sails for Picton and Nelson on Friday.
The steamer sailed for Foxton at 5 o’clock yesterday evening. She should be back in port to* morrow morning.
The schooner Shepherdess came off Coffey and Dixon's Slip yesterday. She has had a thorough overhaul, The ketch Falcon will be taken up today. The steamer "Wallace sailed for the West Coast about 7 p.m. yesterday. The steamer Lyttelton arrived in port at 11 o'clock yesterday morning. She crossed the Wairau bar on Sunday, but took shelter in Ohau Bay on account of the heavy sea in the Strait. She sailed at midnight for the same port. We regret that our report of the trip of the Government steamer Hincmoa, which appeared in yesterday's issue, should have been . slightly inaccurate. Our shipping reporter obtained the particulars from a gentleman whom he understood was a passenger on board the steamer. Captain Fairchild, with his usual courtesy, supplied our reporter with some particulars, but the more extended account was given to him by the gentleman previously referred to. The steamer Jane Douglas left Foxton at 6.15 a m. yesterday; crossed the bar at 7 a.ra., and arrived In harbor at 615 p.m. Had fine weather throughout. She stopped at Kapiti to take on board the captain of the American ship Matilda, which arrived there on Sunday from Lyttelton. The Jane Douglas leaves for Kaikoura and Lyttelton this evening. The steamer Manawatu should arrive here at 6 o'clock this morning from Wanganut. She sails during the afternoon for the same port. The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered barque Loch Ken cleared at the Customs yesterday. A summary of her cargo, valued at £35,231. will bo found above. She will sail for London to-morrow or next day. Captain Johnston received a telegram yesterday afternoon that the schooner Richard and Mary had gone ashore on the Rangltikei river. She was bound to Foxton from Greymouth. Fortunately no damage was done, and the vessel was easily got off.
