This company will take over the large business of the present Victoria Fire and Marine Insurance Company, so well known as a highly successful institution for the last thirty years, during which period it has never failed to pay substantial dividends to the shareholders. Branches and Agencies have been established for many years all over Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and at London ; and the public are now offered participation in this already formed and flourishing concern, as hereunder. The present Victoria Fire and Marine Insurance Company ceases operations on 30th day of June next. The shareholders of the present company, in consideration for their goodwill of the business, will be allowed to take up 40,000 Shares at par. The balance of the Shares, viz., 60,000, are offered to the public of Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania, at a premium of £1 per Share, which premium will go to the credit of the new company. A Call of 10s. per share will be made upon allotment, and in three months another Call of similar amount may be made. Applications for Shares in New Zealand will be received until Monday, the 23rd day of June nest, at the various Branches and Agencies of the National Bank of New Zealand (Limited). Every application must be accompanied by a cash deposit of £1 per Share for the premium, which premium will be returned in full on each Share not allotted, should the demand for shares exceed the number for distribution.
