Tlie brig Niagara was shifted from the wharf yesterday, and will sail to-morrow for Newcastle. Tile Sarah Pile cleared at the Customs yesterday for Kalpara. Tlio barque India, from Hobart Town, entered at the Customs yesterday, shortly after arrival. ARRIVAL OP THE INDIA. The barque India, from Hobarton, with a cargo of sleop-irs and piles, arrived yesterday morning, after a Jong passage of twenty-one days, owing to light winds and calms after making the Now Zealand coast. She left Newport on the 7tU April, and had nothing but southerly weather and light winds. Made Cape Campbell on the 17th Instant, when a succession of calms and light airs were met with, and no progre s could bo made. After drifting about for about a week she started to beat through tho Straits, and arrived of! the Heads on Sunday night. Took the pilot on board shortly after making the Heads, arid he brought her in and anchored her off the Breastwork. She will if possible haul alongside the Breastwork to-day, and commence discharging. She brings a quantity of timber tot the new railway pier. ARRIVAL. OF THE PERI FROM LONDON. The ship. Peri, from I .tuition, waisignalicd as being off the Reads yesterday morning, but owing to the ebb, tide and light non h-west wind anchored outside until tho Rood commenced to make. Shortly after noon she weighed anchor,, and made astart to boatin', filot Holmes had previously boarded her, and did Ms utmost to work‘the ship in, but the wind fa ling ho was compelled to bring her up In Worser Bay. She has made One of the smartest passages of the season, being under eighty days out, and bad it not been for a few doldrums she mot with In the tropics her passage would p.obabiy have been ono of the fastest that we have recorded for some time. Fine breezes were met with in rounding the Capo, which lasted with an occasional change until nearing Tasmania, when stiff southerly broezns were met with. From thence fine weather and fair winds. She has about eleven tons of powder on board, and will anchor in tho powder ground until Wednesday, when site will bo brought alongside the wharf. She is under tho command of Captain Hirst, and comes consigned ho Messrs. Levin and Co.

These were, found ' „olerab'y fair, and sire crossed the line S 4 (fays outOn the 24th February spoke the barque Dumblanr, f rom Adelaide to London, 05 days out, in latitude 2-3.20 seuth, longitude 28.40 vest. On the following day spoke the Mataura from Otago to London. 40 days oat, in latitude 23 south, Longitude 26.40 west. Had favorable weather unti passing tho meridian of Greenwich on the 15th March. Ran her easting down in 45 south. Made Capu Farewell on tho 22nd when light head winds and caims werq experienced. Took the pilot on board on Sunday night, and was brought right alongside the whari. she has part cargo for Lyttelton, whence she proceeds to Auckland, and will load with kauri gum.
