SALE OF MR. REDWOOD’S RACEHORSES.

Christchurch, April 17. The sale of Mr. Redwood's horses took place to-day. The bidding was very slack. Raupo, Toitoi, and Wainui passed in at 500 guineas each, and Skybird, Fanny, and Fair Puritan passed in at 150 guineas each ; Countess passed in at 75 guineas, Constance and Shrovetide at 100 guineas, and Fair Agnes at 300 guineas. A foal by Maroro, out of Toitoi, was bought by Mr. Don for 100 guineas. Norseman, Maroro, and Miss Dorrett, sold on account of G. G. Stead, was bought by Redwood for 100, 200, and 100 guineas respectively. Mata, winner of Dunedin Cup, was sold to Messrs. H. Prince and Cutts for 700 guineas, and Longlands, winner of the Great Autumn Handicap of 1879, was passed in at 250 guineas.
