We extract the following from the Otago Daily Times of the 14th instant; —“Another accident attended with loss of life happened at Port Chalmers on Friday night at ten o clock. The victim was a Danish sailor belonging to the schooner Martha Held, named Jappa Johansen. He, with two others of his shipmates, had gone alongside the barque Frederica and Carolina, and, while attempting to board her, fell overboard and was carried away. His companions, hearing his cries for help, at once returned to the boat and endeavored to save him, but without avail.”
