Monday, April 21 (Before T. A. Hansford, Esq., E.M.) DRUNKENNESS. ' Two inebriates were dealt with in the usual way. • - • - larceny. Annie Pieterson, a young servant girl, wag charged with stealing a purse containing £5 Is. 3d., the property of Bella Strang. The police stated that when* she was arrested she admitted having stolen the mpney. She was then charged with stealing the sum of £8 from a person named J. -Wilson. On the application of the police the accused was remanded until Friday, . .. WIPE DESERTION. William Lancaster, a clerk, was chargedwith deserting his wife at Christchurch. Prisoner stated that he had been trying to get employment in Wellington but could not succeed. He was remanded to Christchurch. - ■ - CIVIL CASES. -A . Knocker and another v. Zohrahand another —(Haim, £O6. M. Ollivier for plaiatiff, Ur. Bailor for defendant. Dr. Bailor contcndo 1 that bin Worship had no jurisdiction. Mr. Mansford considered that ho could not hear the case.
