CENTRAL AND NORTHERN DISTRICT. CENTRAL RAILWAY, FOURTH SECTION, 170 MILES TO 197 MILES. CONTRACT FOR WORKS, No. 1, TENDERS are invited for the construction of the Fourth Section of the Central Railway, from 170 miles to 197 miles, in length 27 miles, in accordance with plans, sections, drawings, general conditions, and specifications, which may be seen at the office of the Chief Engineer, Rockhampton, or at the office of the Commissioner for Railways, Brisbane, on and after SATURDAY, the 12th day of APRIL, 1879, where also forme of tender and other information can be obtained. Tenders, endorsed “ Tender for Fourth Section, Central Kailway,” must be deposited at the office of the Commissioner for Railways, at Brisbane, not later than 4 o’clock p.m. on FRIDAY, the 30th MAY, 1879. Business Notices JpUBLIC NOTICE IMPERIAL SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS. WOLFE VEUStis HART. JUDGE MOLESWORTH, of VICTORIA Has granted an interim injunction only against the sale of bottles with labels and wrappers similar to the plaintiffs, which decision has been appealed against, and will be heard by the Full Court in September next. Judge Moleaworth has also decided that the trade term “Aromatic Schiedam Schnapps” is public property. ■'The popularity and increasing demand tor HART’S IMPERIAL SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS has become so great that the proprietor, in order to avoid the delay of law pending his appeal, has arranged to place in the market n a few days his genuine and highly esteemed “IMPERIAL SCHIEDAM SCHNAPPS” in bottles and labels altogether dissimilar to Wolfe’s, thereby conforming to the present order of the Court of Victoria, and preventing any imposition on or mistake by the public. Purchasers having any of the old stock on hand can have it changed by applying to the agents, although the result of the appeal according to the opinion of counsel will render this unnecessary. DR. HASSALL’S REPORT. The Analytical and Sanitary Institution, 54, Holbom Viaduct, 8.C., London, 9th May, 1877. Report on a Sample of Imperial Sohiodam Schnapps received from Mr. H. J. Hart. We have subjected a sample of the abovenamed article to a very careful chemical analysis and examination. The results of the analysis, which are set forth in a separate report, show that this spirit is of good strength, practically free from acidity, and that it contains but traces of solid matter in solution. It possesses a delicate and agreeable aroma, and a pure and inild taste. ,Mr. Hart’s Schiedam Schnapps is a very superior article of its class, Is well purified, and nite genuine. (Signed), Aethdb H. Hart, Esq., Sir,—l have the honor to report for your information that the sample of Imperial Schiedam Schnapps forwarded by you to me haa been submitted to a searching chemical analysis and critical examination, the result of which enables me to state that it is the finest sample of Schnapps that has as yet come under my notice. It has a pure fragrant odor, and 1s absalately free from any trace of fusil oil or other injurious impurity, and has evidently been distilled from superior rye grain, always used instead of malt in the production of the choicest qualities of Schnapps. It is very smooth to the palate, and in this respect compares favorably with other samples offered for sale. FRASER k TYNE, Phoenix Foundry, Auckland, are licensed to make and sell these light, powerful Jacks, so well suited to Bush and Sawmill work, or on board ship, in warehouses, at railway stations, of wherever heavy, goods, timber, machinery, &0., have to be moved or.handled. Owing to the superiority of, and demand for, these Jacks,'Fraser and Tinue have provided costly machinery for their manufacture, and are now engaged in making 1008 of them. The p’arts of the Jacks that are subjected to tie greatest amount of strain and wear are being wrought from their scrap furnace. The chief points of advantage in these Jacks are:—l. Their long thrust admitting, if necessary, of tie wood or stalk being made shorter than usual, for small timber and sawmills. 2, That they do not run hack under heavy weights, thus dispensing with the continual attendance of one band, on whose care may often depend the safety of other hands. _ 3, Their reduced dimensions and weight reducing the danger of their removal from rolling logs, I ke., and making them so much more handy j and convenient for carrying and working.
