Education U" NIVEBSITY OF OTAGO. The SESSION for 1879 will'be OPENED on THURSDAY, the Ist of MAY. The Matriculation and the Preliminary Examination for Medical Students will be held on the let, 2nd, and 3rd of May, commencing each day at 10 a.m. On Monday, the sth, the different Claeses will be opened. Candidates intending to present themselves for the Examinations are required to forward their names, with a list of the optional subjects in which they elect ta be examined, together with the matriculation fee of one guinea, to the Registrar, on or before the 26th April. SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. Lectures will be delivered on the following subjects, viz . Anatomy, Surgery, Chemistry, and Zoology. Hospital attendance daily. A New Zealand University Scholarship of the annual value of £IOO, tenable for three years, open to medical students, will be competed for at the end of each session. SCHOOL OF MINES.^ This School is amply provided with Collections of Specimens, Models, Apparatus, &c. The course of instruction is designed for the following professions, viz., Mining Engineer, Metallurgist, Geological Surveyor, Mining and Land Surveyor, Metallurgical Chemist and Assayer.
