OLIVIA DAVIS, 509 tons, carries 670 tons coal, 135 x 31 x 17; draft loaded, 15ft. Sin.; ballast, 70 tons; docked December, 1878; coppered and refastened throughout at a cost of £3OOO, in 1877; very fast and staunch. QUEEN EMMA, 314 tons, carries 420 tons coal, 126.6 x 26 x 13.4; draft aft (loaded), 14ft.. 10in.; ballast, 7Q tons; refastened and coppered with heavy metal over felt and cbennara for £BOO in July, 1878; very fast; large cabin accommodation. RESULT, 742 tons, carries 1180 tons coal, 146.6 x 30 x 22.8; draft loaded, 19ft. 6in.; ballast, 280 tons; docked, June, 1878; Messrs, Mort, of Sydney, repaired this ship in November, 1874, at a cost of nearly £4OOO, since which time she has done little work; metal good for three or four years; very staunch; grand timber ship; bow ports; large accommodation.

SPARROWHAWK, 445 tons, carries 580 tons coal, 199 x 27.4 x 13.9; draft coal (laden), 13ft. 9in.; ballast, 70 tons; splendid timber ship; no hold beams and large deck room; now at Trinity Bay loading round cedar; docked August, 1878; pure copper'fastened; sails very fast. Note.— The Result is the only vessel that requires stiffening, the others move empty under canvass. MIRANDA, schooner, 40' tons, carries 75 tons, 65.5 x 14.5 x 72, built at Geelong of colonial hardwood in 1877 ; coppered; yacht-like proportions. The above barques are now running between Melbourne and Newcastle, and can be .in-, spected at either port as they, arrive. - These ships are in hard working order, thoroughly well found, and are money.making vessels. References are invited to Mr.’ Turner, hull surveyor ; ’to Underwriters’ Association ; also to Captain Daish, marine surveyor, and to Mr. i Douglas Elder,, shipwright - surveyor, all of Melbourne ; to Captain J. M. Banks, Exchange, Sydney ; and in New Zealand to the Union Insurance Company, head office; Christchurch. . ; ! Copies of survey, reports, and all particulars will be sent by post to all bona fide inquirers.; Tenderers to state where delivery is required,‘ and their terms of payment. These ships are for sale, to provide for the dissolution of partnership of this firm by effluxion of time. The highest nor any tender will not necessarily be accepted, but the vessels will be sold at prices to meet the times. Should tenderers desire a twelve months’ charter can be given to' the whole fleet. Tenders will be opened on THURSDAY, the 10th ABRIL, 1879, at 2 p.m., but should any buyer require a vessel before such date we, retain the right to sell.
