This time at the Paris Exposition, they have beaten their best record, as is said of racehorses. Seven medals have been awarded them—the greatest number ever, bestowed on a single firm at one world’s fair. Five so these —two gold, two silver and one bronze—were given for the incomparable scales which have by their own merit made their way-to every civilized corner of the earth. The testimonials from the highest impartial sources to the excellence of these scales must now number many hundreds. Gold mdals are earned for them as a matter of course wherever they appear in competition. One other gold and a bronze medal, went to the Fairbankses from Paris to their improved type writer and oscillating pump.
