(SPECIAL TO TRESS AGEXCY.) Melbourne, Wednesday. The foundation stone of the Exhibition Buildings was laid by the Governor to-day with great ceremony. There was a large attendance, and a half-holiday was proclaimed. A gold trowel was presented, which Wits valued at a hundred guineas. The ladies’ present to Lady Bowen was a tiara of diamonds, valued at four hundred guineas. (REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.) Melbourne, Wednesday. In the Assembly last night, Sir Henry Parkes (the Premier) confirmed the statement that an increased reward had been offered for the Kelly gang. He intimated that the Government would probably ask the Assembly and Council to suspend the Standing Orders, in order to pass an Outlawry Bill in one sitting. Sydney, Wednesday. The Governor laid the foundation stone of the International Exhibition. The civil authorities, military and naval forces, were present, and a great concourse of people. Arrived : Wakatipu, from Wellington ; Australia, from Auckland. Sailed ; Hero. Launceston, Wednesday. Swiveller won the Cup. Doaken has been elected for West Bourke by a majority of 102. Adelaide, Wednesday. Charles Todd, C.M.C., Superintendent of Telegraphs, reports the overland line still down by flood. He is making every exertion to restore the line.
