The 3 B RVIC KS of duly qualified DRAFTSMEN being required in the Sur-veyor-General's Office, Sydney, Now South Wales, applications are invited from gentlemen competent to perform the duties, for which purpose they will have to pass a satisfactory examination in the following subjects, viz.:— 1. Writing from dictation 2. Writing a description of the boundaries of a portion of land 3. Lettering (free-hand) iu large and open Roman capitals and Arabic numerals 1. Ordinary map drawing 0. Reducing 6. Plotting traverses 7. Computation of latitude and depaiture, and applied plane trigonometry generally, including computation of areas by the system of double longitudes, &0., and satisfy the Surveyor-General that they are generally competent to perform the duties of a survey draft-man. In the event of passing the examination the remuneration will depend upon the degree of efficiency that may thou and thereafter be exhibited. Temporary draftsmen are divided into seven classes, at rates varying from (is. to 17s. per diem, for five and a half working days per week.
