The following are the duties collected st the Casjrus yesterday^

I The Custom’s duties received at this port for the four weeks ending February 13, were as follows ;

The import trade has been moderately active during the past week, with the usual complaint of low quotations, which so long as goods are poured in by every London ship must become chronic. .We cannot hear of any variation from our month’s report, prices being as a rale we iker in every instance, and greatly In favor of the buyer. At auction 7 tons galvanised Iron, 21 gauge, in lengths from sft to 10ft only realised £22 10a per ton, and lor the same quality of 28 gnage, £24 10s per ton : while fencing wire Nos. 6. 7, and 8 could command no higher price tlian £l3 per ton, at which rates the goods were bought In. Holders of goods And it is of no avail to force sales, and must wait patiently until times Improve. In colonial produce there Is no change in prices from last week’s report. Flour. If any thing. Is weaker, and lines of Canterbury flour in sacks have been offered at £9los per ton and even lower. Holders quote £9 to £9loa for Jlnea of best brands guaranteed. Maize dull at 5s (id; oats in fair supply and easier, 4s to 4s 3d per bushel being present rate for fair samples. Keg butter is rising in value with the Increased price for fresh, but we bear of no sales beyond retail lots at 91d per lb; cheese in falz demand, at BJd per lb; bacon and hams, 9d to lOd ; potatoes very scarce and wanted at auction to-day at £9 2s (Id per ton was obtained, BY TELEOKAPH. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The weather Is splendid for harvesting, and the bulk of the crop is secured against damage by rain. Money being scarce, there are no speculative Iran sections to record In the grain market: millers are acting with extreme caution in their operations. New wheat is selling at 3s to 3s 3d; flour, £8 10s new; old flour, £9; oats, 2s 3d to 2s 9d: barley, 4s (id to 6s; cheese, 8d; butter, lid, HJd, Is; haras and bacon, 81d. DUNEDIN. Friday. Business during the week has been moderate. The activity noticed last month has quieted down, and transactions are generally limited to trade requirements. Several auctions have taken places, but the prices realised are mostly no criterion as to quotations. SYDNEY, Friday. Hennessy’s brandy in case, 345; quarters, 9s 3d: Patna rice, £2O; kerosene. Is 8d to Is 9(1; New Zealand wheat, 4s 9d to 6s ; New Zealand oats, 3s to 3s 3d ; Raven’s twist tobacco, la Id to Is Bd. ADELAIDE, Friday. Flour, £l2 10s to £l3; wheat, 5s to 6s 2d. J. M. TAYLOR’S SHARE REPORT. Wellington, February 14, 1879.

The sharcmarket continues dull, with few transactions locally to report. Quotations must be therefore taken as a criterion, only derived from outside reports. Wo have buyers of National Bank shares. National Insurance, Colonial Insurance, Standard’s. etc., and sellers of New Zealand Shipping Co., Wellington Gas, e}c., but no transactions to any extent come under notico.
