MR, FRANCIS SIDEY will sell by public auction, in the Arcade Buildings, Manners-street— I KA SECTIONS in Stratford Extension, fronting the Mountain-road, Juliet, Orlaudo, and Ariel streets, which are one and-a-half chains wide, WITHOUT RESERVE. Auctioneer’s Note. —The above sections to be offered to the Wellington public are within a short distance from the Stratford railway station, tenders for which have been by the Government, and the line will be open in a few months. Stratford will be the junction of the Waitara-Wanganui and Auckland railway, and it is also expected that the line running through the Waimate Plains will join the main line at Stratford. About £20,000 is voted for expenditure on the Mountain-road and branch roads, and will therefore open up some of the finest country in the provincial district of Taranaki (the garden of New Zealand). To the working man Stratford offers special inducements. There is now an opportunity of purchasing a piece of laud at a low price and becoming his own landlord and settling down in a comfortable manner near his work ; it is a fact that laborers are earning from 10s. to 12s. per day about Stratford. These include the 15 acres adjoining the residence of Mr. Barton, and extend from the Hutt-road to the land fronting the sea, and forms undoubtedly the most eligible AND VALUABLE PORTION OP THE PROPERTY. WORKING MEN’S TRAINS have now commenced running to PETONE, enabling tradesmen to go to and from their work, and henceforth reside on their own FREEHOLD ALLOTMENT at PETONE. City rates and taxes are avoided thereby, and working men’s families can ensure health and pure air in this locality. SPECULATORS are strongly recommended to notice the eligibility of these allotments as an investment. The Government workshops are now started in earnest, as will be apparent on inspection of the costly and extensive machinery now being fitted up on the railway reserve at the Petone station.
