The steamer Stormbird sailed yesterday afternoon fer "Wanganul. ~„,,, The Wellington sails to-day for tha Manukau via Picton, Nelson, and Taranaki. The steamer Talaroa did not leave kelson until 1 p.m. yesterday. The calls at ricton. and therefore cannot arrive in harbor before this morning. The ship Rakaia, homeward bound, broka ground yesterday evening, and left on her way for London. A light northerly breeze carried her out of the harbor. Her passengers, with a number of friends, were taken on board in the little steamer M-ia, After about half an hour's delay (during which the friends of the voyagers were able to bid them farewell, and look at their apartments that are to.be for about 90 days) the steamer returned to the wharf. Shortly afterwards the crew were busy on the forecastle heaving up the anchor, and the chorus of " We are homeward bound" could bo distinctly heard ashore. Several small boat 3 remained alongside the ship until the anchor was hove and the topsails were set. then those who remained as long as possible bid a hearty farewell to Captain Metcalf and those on board, and tho good ship was soon lost sight of. She leaves in splendid trim, and several beta are laid that she overtake and beats the Zealandia, which left here 10 days ago. The steamer Jane Douglas, from arrived in harbor .it 5 o'clock yesterday evening, after an eight hours' passage. She leaves again to-day. The steamer Lyt'elton, from Blenheim, arrived In harbor yesterday evening at 5.30. She brings a cargo of wool for the ship St. Leonards. The ship Jessie Headman, for the Bluff, got under way yesteiday shortly before dark, and was ihortly afterwards bowling across the Strait. She load 3at the Bluff for Homo. ' „ ■ Tho steamer Gleneig, with the Forest Queen in tow. left last night for Otaki. The steamer Go-Ahead will arrive early this morning, and sail again during the day for Wanganul. The steamer Star of the South is advertised to leave to-day, at noon, for Westport and Greymouth. There appears now to bo evory probability of tho ship Hyderabad being floated again. She has been moved seaward fully 50 feet, and if tho weather is at all favorable it is expected that next week she will be quite out of danger. Her hull is perfectly sound, and nothing whatever is the matter with ber. A survey has been held on the City of Auckland, and sho too is f«und to have received no damage. Every effort will he made to get her afloat also. -
