THE RECENT GAS ESCAPE.

TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —In connection with the paragraph in this morning’s issue re the turning on of the gas in the English High School, the reverend principal has accused me of a “ diabolical attempt to damage his reputation.” Further, that I have done it to damage the school. I have done nothing to damage the reputation of the principal or the school. With a conscience void of offence, sir, I appeal to every boy now in the school, or who has been there, and to every parent who now has or has had boys there, to acquit me of this charge.—l am, &c. E. W. Morton, Second Master. Terrace, Deo. 10.
