Passengers for Auckland—Mr. and Mrs. Gould, Mr. Hack—Star of the South, from Greymouth.—Opawa, from Plymouth, 91 days out, with immigrants. All well on board ;no deaths. She left Plymouth on September 7th, had a fine weather passage, and mado the Snares on December 1, anlviug this morning. Sailed : Tararua, for the North, at 6 p.m.

Arrival. —French barque Chateaubriand, 47 days from Mauritius, with 250 tons sugar.—Waratah, from Hobarton; Falcon, from Newcastle. Both these Teasels were jammed for a week in Foveaux Strait, through, thick weather. AUCKLAND, Sunday. Arrived : Southern Cross and Wanaka, from South; Hannah Broomfield and Hokianga, from Wellington. KAIFABA, Friday. Sailed : Aratapu. for Wellington ; Julius Vogel, for Wellington ; Lady Don. for South; Sarah Pile, for Wellington.—The barque Frederick Baall and schooner Nightingale are a till on the sandbanks, and are likely to remain there some time. The steamer Taiaroa, from the South, arrived In harboryesterday morning at 8 o’clock. She left Port Chalmers on the Gth at 7 p.m., and arrived at Akarca on the 7bh at 10.30 left again at 12.45, and arrived hero as above. Fine weather was experienced across.

The steamer Jane Douglas, from Foxton, arrived in harbor early yesterday. She returns again to-day. The Rangatira goes on the Slip this trip for her usual overhaul. She will sail again for Napier and Poverty Bayoa Thursday. The steamer Rangatira. from Poverty Hay and Napier, arrived in harbor at noon on Saturday. She left the former place on Thursday, and arrived at Napier the following morning ; sailed again the same day, arriving here as above. The steamer Charles Edward, from Nelson, arrived in harbor yesterday morning. She left Nelson on Saturday evening. For the first part of the passage had fine weather, thence a strong north-west gale with heavy sea. The Hawea left Auckland on Wednesday, tho 4th instant, at 5 p.m., and arrived at Taur»nga on Thursday nt 5.30 a. m ; left at 12 noon, and arrived at Gisborne atCa.xi. on Friday; sailed at 3.p.m.. and arrived at Napier at 4 a.m on Saturday ; sailed for Wellington at 1 p.ra., arriving here at 8.30 yesterday morning. The schooner Marmion, from Fahau, arrived in harbor yesterday morning. She left Pahau on Satar- ' day, and experienced a strong nor’-wester across. The steamer Go-Ahead, from Napier and East Coast stations, arrived here late on Friday night. She left Wellington Heads at 7.30 a.m. last Monday, and arrived at Glenburn at 6 p.m.; lauded passengers and cargo; left again three hours later, and arrived at Napier on Tuesday evening. Rad fair weather throughout. On Wednesday discharged 80 tons cargo, and left for Wellington via the coast at 1.80 p.m. Had light and variable winds to Blackhead, from thence to Castlepoint strong north-west breeze. Anchored at Castlejfcoint for an hour, and sent letters ashore, and arrived at Glenburn at 11.30 a.m. Thursday; discharged cargo and shipped 80 bales of wool by dark. On Friday at daylight took in tho remainder of the wool, and left at 8 a.m. Had fine weather to the White Rock, arriving there at noon. Shipped 60. bales wool, and left at 4 p.m., and had light north-west winds to arrival. The steamer Claud Hamilton left Melbourne on November 23 at 3 p.m., and arrived at Hokitika on December 4 -at 10 p.m.; left at midday, and arrived at the Grey at 3 p.m.; left at 8 p.m., and arrived at Nelson on the 7th at 0 p.m.; left there on tho Bth at 7.30 p.m., and arrived at Picton at 3.35 p.m.; left at 4.15, and arrived here- at 0.30 last night. Had variable winds, with, thick weather; from thence strong favorable winds to arrival. The master of the schooner Torei wished it to be reported that whilst beating down Tory diannel she struck on a.rock, and had to beach her within two miles from where tho accident happened. We thank Mr. H. Jones, purser, for report and flies The Claud Hamilton: leaves again to-day. The Manawatu left Wanganui at 8.15 p.m. on Saturday night, crossed the bar at 0 p.m., and made fast to the Queen’s wharf at 0 o'clock yester day morning. Experienced baffling winds and very heavy rain, with thundex andllghtning, to Terawitl: from thence strong nortfi.-west winds to arrival. T'.io Manawatu Vringa lObales wool, 20 tons hour, and rf.lll machinery, for Napier, and two horses for Mr. Andrew Young. She. returns to, Wanganui this afternoon at 3 o’clock. The Tararua arrived for tho first time yesterday flying tho l/nicn Steam Ship Company's bouse flag. She left Melbourne at II a.m. on tho 37th, called at Hobarton, and arrived at tho Bluff at 4 a.m. on the 4th. Experienced light south-east winds for tho first two days, and then easterly winds, with h?avysea- She left tho Bluff the same evening, and arrived at Port Chalmers early tho next morning. Hhclelt thereat 5.20 p.m. on thoGth, and arrived at Lyttelton at 0.30 a.m. on tho 7th; left the same evening at G. 39 p.m., and arrived here as above. Wo thank Mr. Mills, her purser, for report and flies. Tiie Tararua leaves this afternoon for Melbourne via tho West Coast.

The clipper schooner Torea, an Auckland-built fore* and-aft schooner, &7 tons burden, struck on a rock on Saturday while beating down Tory Channel, She struck the rock very heavily. and her master deemed it advisable to turn her head for the shore, and ho beached her within two miles of where she struck. No further particulars were obtainable last night. There will probably bo more ef the Union Company's steamers in harbor to-day than over there were before. The Tararua, Talaroa. and ffawca were in last night, the Taupo will arrive first thing this morning, and the Wakatlpa may bo looked for at any hour. The Claud Hamilton, from Nel"on, will also arrive early this morning, which will make six of this company’s fine fleet of steamers. The Kotorua, from the South, arrived In harbor at 11.45 on Saturday forenoon. She left Port Chalmers at 4.50 p.m. on the sth, and arrived at Lyttelton the following morning; left again the same evening, arriving hero as above, Experienced a light south-west wind and fine weather to Lyttelton, from thence north-west wind and hazy weather. She sailed shortly after arrival for Sydney via Napier and Auckland, taking the ’Frisco mall for transhipment at Auckland The steamer Easby sailed for Sydney at 10.30 on Saturday morning. The steamer Tui, from Foxton, arrived here at 3.30 ara ou Saturday. She left Foxton at 5 p.m. on Friday, and experience * fine weather along the coa t. She left for Lyttelton via Walpapa and Kalkour* last night.
