Arrived: Birchgrove, barque, from Melbourne, vlth 200 tons guano for the Bluff and 400 tons for Dunedin, The following vessels were in the harbor hast night; Steamers—Tanpo and Kiwi; ships— Rakaia, Jessie Readman, Sfc. Leonards, Wairoa, md Zcalandia: barques—Olustee, Craigio Lea, and Sophia 11. r.nhra; brigantines—Hally Bailey and Rachel Cohen. The steamer Stella left last night. She calls at Waipapa, Kekerangu, Kaikoura, Boat Harbor, Gore Bay, and Cape Saunders. She takes telegraph posts and wire for telegraphic purposes. The ketch Unity arrived last night from Picton. The schooner Day Dawn, from tho wreck of tho ’letch Elizabeth, arrived in harbor yesterday morning. Ihe brought a quantity of the Umber from tho branded vessel. Tho master of the Day Dawn says .hat he expects tho Elizabeth will be afloat in about ,i fortnight. The Easby sailed South yesterday afternoon. Tho steamer Stormbird, for Wanganui, got away lost night. Tho steamer Kiwi is on the slip being overhauled. When she comes off the St. Leonards will be taken on. The s.s, Taupo left Onehuuga on Tuesday, tho 26th :t 10 A.m. ; arrived at Taranaki at daylight on Wednesday, the 27th; landed mails and passengers jnly, sailing again at 8 a.m. ; arrived off the lighthouse at Nelson at 10 p.m.; left Nelson at H a.m. on the 2Sth, and arrived here at 7 p.m., thus having made a fine run of eight hours. Fine weather prevailed renerally. We thank the purser, Mr. Grant, for rejor t. The Taupo goes South to-day.
