SPECIAL TELEGRAM. London, November 19. The London colonial wool sales opened this afternoon., Tho total number of bales arrived and available for this series of sales was 179,000. The first day’s catalogue was fairly representative of all the colonies, and comprised 7600 bales. The attendance of home and foreign buyers was large, and the competition was keen. The prices show an average decline of about a penny per pound. The fall was most strongly marked in scoured wools. Liston, Young, and Company have failed for £IOO,OOO. Au influential deputation, headed by Lord Lawrence, waited upon Lord Beaoonsfield to recommend that Parliament be called together immediately, in view of the Afghan difficulty. Lord Beaoonsfield declined to. receive the deputation from the committee, but declared that if the provinces of India demanded it Parliament will bo communicated with in conformity with tho Indian Act allowing three months after hostilities commenced.
