The Railway Line passes close to the rear of the allotments at Rachel-street. The greater portion of the allotments are knee-deep in grass, the laud being thoroughly cleared and free from stumps, a greater portion of it having cost fully £25 per acre to bring it to its present admirable condition. On some of the back and side allotments a small quantity of bush has been left, amongst which will be found some first-class totara and other splendid timber. No township in the Wairarapa is making such rapid progress in material wealth and prosperity as Carterton, its enormous timber trade and freedom from floods giving it special advantages ; and investors there can rely upon receiving immediate and handsome returns for their outlay. The Land now offered 'has lain unoccupied, save by cattle, in the heart of the township for years, and it is only at the pressing request of a large number of the residents that the proprietor has at last determined to comply with their wishes and throw it open for investment. Specially Liberal Terms will be given ; and lithographic plans, with full detailed information, may be obtained in a few days from the Auctioneers. This is an opportunity not to be neglected, and the best advice the Auctioneers can give their friends and clients is to go and inspect the land, when they will at onee see its admirable character and great value. It has long been felt by a number of the owners and residents of the Township of Normauby that when the railway came to be constructed the township would require considerable extension. This has proved to be the case, and the Government, recognising the fact that the TOWNSHIP OF NORMANBY EXTENSION was the PROPER PLACE for the GREAT TERMINAL RAILWAY STATION in that part of the country have fixed upon a site about the centre of the allotments now to be offered for sale, and where the three great lines of railway meet. Numerous applications have been mads to the Vendors |by Bankers, Hotelkeepers, Storekeepers, and others, to be allowed to make their selections, but considering the valuable character of every allotment iu the Township and the natural eagerness of all those best conversant with the District to invest in them, the Vendors 1 have determined to' give all a ■ fair chance and submit every allotment to the hammer. It is needless to say anything of the merits of a Township so admirably situated as NORMANBY EXTENSION. It is the natural centre of the finest agricultural District in New Zealand, and the whole of the great traffic from Taranaki through the Waimate Plains must go to it as the great receiving depot. Terms will be fixed on a liberal basis. Title Laud Transfer Act. Lithographic plans of the township, with full details and plan showing the district, will be ready early next week, and every assistance will be given to intending purchasers to examine the allotments.
