The import trade for the past week has been only moderate, with no changes in recent quotations. There a- e complaints that money is becoming rathertight—owing doubtless to the amount hat is being continually absorbed in land speculation, otherwlsotrado is healthy. Colonial produce is also without any change in prices., Canterbury and Oamaru flour of best brands moves off slowly at £ll per ton for sacks. Oats are showing symptoms of lower rates, and cannot be qnoted higher than 4a to 4s Cd for prime sample in trade lots. Bran in moderate supply at Is Cd per bushel. Wheat for fowls, 4s to 4s 3d. Hams and bacon, 84 Cheese, 7d; and keg buttor, 9d to lOd per lb. Yesterday, at the Arcade Buildings, Messrs. Dwan and Kirton sold Colonial Bank shares at 66s od, National Bank, 77s 6d ; National Insurance, 20s; South British Insurance, 74s ; Haider Gas Company, £0 17s Cd ; D'Urville Island Copper Company, 10s; and allotments in Fe thorston and Wnoilvllle brought frir prices. Vogoltown sections realised from £ls to £2O each. There was a large attendance.
