WITNESSES IN COURT.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir,—Can you inform the writer whether it is usual to allow witnesses to remain in the body of Magistrates' Courts whilst cases are proceeding, as was the case on Tuesday last, on which day he was unfortunate enough to have to attend to a summons t Otherwise, as a resident of New Zealand for nineteen years, he will deem it his duty to draw the attention of the Minister of Justice to these facts, as it must give an unscrupulous witness a very unfair advantage of the loophole.—l am, &c., .
