* Means &c. t Means for same month previous fourteen years. Notes.— First three days fine ; on 4th and sth wet from south-east; fine from 6th to Bth ; stormy on 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th from north-west ; heavy rain cm night of 11th ; fine 13th and 14th; 15th and ICth strong north-west winds ; 17tb and 18th fine ; fine day on morning of 15th, but towards night very ihreitening, and very heavy rain, wind changing to southeast ; 2*20 in. rain recorded on g'Hb. the max. for month, all falling dating night of 19th ; dull cold south-east on 20tk ; fine on 21st, with fresh westerly breeze; stormy from north-west on 22nd; tolerably fine on 23rd ; stormy on 24th from north-west, with rain at night; fine but strong north-west wind on 25tk and 26th; cold showery south-east on 27th ; fine for remainder of month. Altogether an unpleasant, stormy, showery mouth. Earthquake felt oa 21st at 10 55 p.m. sharp, followed by slighter shocks. Max. temp, in shade. 67*6 ; min.. 40 3. R B. Gore.
