Arrived ; Taupo, from Lyttelton.—Albion Company's ship Timaru, 89 days from Glasgow, with 363 ‘immigrants, 12 saloon passengers, and 1000 tons cargo. The general health of the passengers throughout - was - good; four deaths occurred, three infants and one adult.: Mr-Gibbsy a saloon passenger, died from con- * sumption. One case of gastric fever is now existing. The commission decided to admit the ship to pratique upon her being disinfected and the single women s bedding destroyed. . .. ... Sailed : Tararua, for Lyttelton ; Albion, for the Bluff; Elizabeth Graham/barque, for Valparaiso. The following vessels were in the harbor, last •nightSteamers—Wellington and Jane Douglas; ships—Ra'nala, St. Leonards, Wairoa, and Zealandia; harques—Malay. Antares, ami Craigie Lea, The steamer Ladybird, from Lyttelton, is due here this'morning. She leaves again in the evening for the Manakau, via Nelson and Taranaki. ’ The steamer Wellington, from Nelson and Picton, arrived at the wharf at 7.30 yesterday morning. She left Nelson at 5.30 on Tuesday evening, called a*. Pioton'; and arrived hero as above. She returns again to Thesteamer Hlnomoa is expected to arrive here to,day from Lyttelton. ... ..... . . . Tho steamer Napier, for Blenheim, left the wharf at 4 a.ra. yesterday. The steamer Easby is duo here to-day from Lyttelton, • She sails again during the afternoon for Sydney. The steamer Stormblrd, from Wanganui, arrived here at 7 o’clock yesterday morning. She crossed the bar at 7 on Tuesday night, and experienced thick weather along the coast. She left again for Wanganui at 2 o’clock. The Eangatira left Napier yesterday at noon, and will arrive hero to-day. .The schooner Aspaaia has nearly completed discharging her cargo. , , , Tho brigantine Rachel Cohen was to leave Melbourne during this week for Wellington. She comes consigned to Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull, and brings a full cargo of general merchandise. The'ship Zealandia will be the first wool ship to leave us with the new clip. She has now on board over 2000 bales. The barque Antares has finished discharging, and was yesterday busy taking her ballast on board. The topsail schooner Mary King has discharged her cargo, and was taking her ballast in yesterday. She has cleared for Picton, and will probably get away to; day. . Tho'schooner Isabella got away yesterday afternoon. The steamer Moa hauled alongside tho ship Walroa yesterday, and put several tons of ballast on board. The ship will bo hauled away from the wharf to-day. • The steamer Samson, lately purchased by the West Wanganui Coal Company, is expected to leave here on her first trip about Saturday. The steamer Hawea left the wharf yesterday shortly after'midday for Auckland via tho East Coast. ! The steamer Manawatuleft Wanganui last night at 1 6 o’clock, and is therefore due here first thing this niornmg. I Tho Jane Douglas leaves this evening for Foxtrm. We hear that Mr. Robertson, master of the steamer Glonelg, met with an accident while laying: tho cable from the Hyderabad. By some means, or otfher ho got his foot jammed, but it is thought no.fierious consequences will result, and that in a week ho win be all right again. The steamer Jane Douglas, from Fox ton, arrived in harbor at 5.30 last evening, and steamed alongside the breastwork, to discharge some of the Hyderabad’s cargo, which the steamer shipped at Foxton. She left : at 8 a.m. yesterday morning, and experienced-fine weather and smooth sea as far as Mana Island, from thence a heavy sea. Captain Fraser informs us that the steamer Giodelg was at anchor under the lea of KapltL On Sunday the sea was smooth for another attempt to lay (he cable from the ship. This, we are. happy to say, was effected, but not without consider* able difficulty. It is thought, now that this cable.xcdi anchor is thoroughly laid, that the ship will be. kept from being driven farther on the beach. Captain Short, who was a passenger by thtesteamer Jane Douglas yesterday evening, informs usithat Captains Malller and Carrow held a survey on> Tuesday i on the ketch Elizabeth, and condemned her as a wreckAll the spars and sails have been taken out of her. Captain Short Is of opinion that ell the hull below water is perfectly sound, and he is yet in hopes of seeing her safe afloat again. Several of Captain Williams* - colliers are now about due. The first expected iti the Edwin Bassett. Unless one of them pu.t, in appearance shortly the supply of coal will bo very short, os there is very little now in the harbor*.
