RIFLE SHOOTING.
The Wellington City Rifles held their second competition for their challenge medals on Saturday last, when 24 members of the corps competed, under command of Captain Crowe. The match proved very interesting, and the competition keen aud close. The weather was all that could bo desired. The shooting shows that seven competitors scored over 60 points, Sergeant Harris being top with the very good score of 65 points, out of a passible 84, which entitled him-to the first medal for this mouth. Vol. A. Ballinger, whose scoring in the cadets was well known, took the second medals with 63 points, Lieut. Mclntosh being third with 62 points. Tho following are the seven highest scores, which show that tho winners of last month were well up :
