The Prince of Wales received a deputation at the British Embassy, who presented an address from the Colonial Commissioners at the Exhibition, thanking his Royal Highness for suggesting the founding of a Colonial Museum in London under the patronage of the Princess of Wales. The Prince promised to assist the movement if the desire of the colonial Governments was communicated to him. The Russian papers unanimously advocate indirect aid to the Ameer of Afghanistan. October 25. The directors of the Glasgow Bank have made an immediate call of £6OO per share. .A terrible gale at Philadelphia destroyed numerous edifices, aud twenty-five churches and hundreds of dwellings were There was much loss to shipping. The next sales are expected to show a decline. New Zealand wheat is 41 to 45. Calcutta, 25th October. Affairs on the frontier continue much the same. The concentration of troops is proceeding in readiness for war. It is stated that the Ameer, in reply to the Sultan, distinctly refuses to admit England's mission into Cabul, or haVe anything to do with the British Government. A frendly feeling by the frontier tribes is generally manifested towards England. There is much sickness at Peshawar. Sydney, Friday.
