Thursday, October 31. (Before T. A. Mansford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. One inebriate was fined 55., or 24 hours im-pri-iomncut, for drunkenness. LUNACY. A young woman named Bridget Maloney, a newarrival by theehip R ikaia, was charged with lunacy, and was remanded for medical examination. CIVIL CASES. Rifcsou aud Clifford v. SV. V. Jackson.— Claim £3 ss. Mr. Gordon Allan appeared for tho plaintiffs, and Mr. Travers for the defendant. This was an action brought against the manager of the Tramway Company to recover damages for injuries received to a hackney carriage. On the suggestion of counsel the case was remanded until tho llfch November. . Hawkins v. Hobbs,—This was an action for trespass and damage. Mr. OUivier appeared for the plaintiff, aud Mr. Gordon Allan for the defendant. The parties concerned are neighbors, residing at Porirua. Judgment was reserved. Smnmerfield and Hagan v. Palmer.—Claim £lO, for alleged broach of contract,. Mr. Fitzberbert appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr. Edwards for the defendant. The latter gentleman raised two legal objections, and his Worship nonsuited the plaintiffs. Muir v. Williams.—Claim £3l 4s. for work done and goods supplied. Mr. OUivier appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. Edwards for the defendant. Defendant, admitted owing tho money, but stated that he had been cautioned nob to pay the debt at present, as plaintiff’s father, who had carried on tho business, was bankrupt. His Worship reserved his decision until Monday.. Mclntyre v. Squires.—Claim £l2 12a. for services rendered in valuing the property of the Metropolitan Hotel. Mr. Fltzherbert appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. Allan for the defendant. After hearing the evidence his Worship gave judgment for £7 14a. Judgment for the plaintiffs, with costs, waq given in the foUowing cases :—G. Gamble v. Horrocks, claim £3lls. Judgment summons. Defendant was ordered to pay the amount on the 28th November.—-J. Gwyneth v. T. Snell, claim £lO 5s ; N. English v. W. Kirkpatrick, claim £6 10s.; F. Routh v. W. Eastwood, claim £2 10s.; M. Hyams v, P. A. Jones, claim £1 195.; Strike and Co. v. same, claim £1 ss. 7d.; C. H. Grainley v. E, Kerns, claim £2 14s. .
