She left tho Sound on Saturday night, and experienced a strong N.W. breeze across. She brings the pant of the Makapou sawmill. The schooner Transit, from Wangaroa, arrived off iho end of the wharf on Saturday. She left last Wednesday week and has been detained through adverse and boisterous weather. The s.s. Rotorua left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on tho 10th, and arrived at Lyttelton at 10.30 a.m. on thollth; sailed at 8.30 p.m., and arrived in harbor at 1.45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Wo have to thank Mr. R. B. Pringle, purser, for files, &c. She left for Sydney via Auckland and Napier in ihe afternoon. Tho steamer Glenelg, with the Forest Queen in tow, left yesterday afternoon. The brig Star left yesterday. The barque St. Lonis hauled away from the wharf on Saturday. The Jane Douglas leaves for Foxton to-day. Tho Alhambra la due to-day from Nelson The barque Felix Stowe, bound to Lyttelton from Newcastle, was driven osbore close to the ship Hyderabad daring a gale yesterday morning. The master, mate, and two hands were drowned. Further particulars will be found in another column. The schooner Sarah Pile, from Kaipara, arrived in harbor shortly before the Aratapu. They left together and arrived off iho Heads on Saturn vy evening. She experienced strong N.W. gales in tho Strait, and during a heavy squall had her lower topsad yard sprung. She reports the departure of the schooner Roderick Dim for Dunedin, and the Belle Brandon loading for Fiji. The Wellington, Captain McGee, arrived in harbor at midnight on Saturday from Picton and Nelson. She left NcUon at 0 a m. on the I2th, and arrived at 6 p.m.: left again at 6.30. and arrived here as above. Experienced strong N.W. gale and clear weather first part of passage, and a fresh breeze and clear weather during the latter part. Passed the steamers Taiaroa and Alhambra bound for Nelson.
