A QUERY FROM A LADY.

TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Could you inform me by what authority it is that certain seats in the ladies’ gallery of the House of Representatives are reserved nightly for particular persons.- In former years invidious distinctions were never created. Surely in this matter friends of the Government, “ other things being equal,” are not to claim a preference. It is not unusual for at least tweuty seats out of fifty to be reserved.— I am, &c.,

A Lady Visitor.
