It was on the whole of a satisfactory character, and expresses gratification at tho fact that the commercial prosperity of Wellington had to some extent reflected in tho added gifts to tho church. The congregations each Sabbath had been numerous, although hardly so large as might have been expected from the increase of population. Tho visit of tho Bev. Doctor Somerville was gracefully referred to, as also that of Doctor (lervaso Smith, the representative of tho British Conference. During the past year a large measure of spiritual success had beeu granted to them, and during the coming year still greater progress would bo made if every end associated with the congregation did all they could, and sought earnestly for the Diviuo blessing on their labors, laying themselves down at the feet of the Master, and saying, “ Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do ?" Tho trust account raised during tho year was stated to, be £456 12s. Id. There was raised by other means £669 16s. 9d. During the past" year £l3O has been reduced from off tho church debt, leaving a balance of £1350 yet in debt.
