Glenelg arrived in harbor yesterday morning, after as excellent passage of nine days from Adelaide, which port she left on the morning of Saturday, the 2Sth ultimo ; rounded Cape Northumberland at 5 a. »n. on Sunday, and passed Cape Ottway at 9 same night: communicated with Wilson's Promontory at 1 p.m. on Monday, and took her departure from Kent's Gronp at 6 o’clock same evening. Experienced light variable winds on the ran across, and sighted the land at daylight yesterday: passed Cape Farewell at noon, arriving as above, having en>. countered a strong S.B. wind, with high sea, in Ujb Strait. The Glenelg is comparatively a new having been built in 1875, under special survey*. at Whltelnch, Glasgow, by Aitken and Mansell; e be Is 135 ft In length, 21ft in breadth. Since her passage from Scotland to Adelaide, which was per* formed In 62 days, she has been, employed on the South Australian coast, and was a> great favorite with passengers, for v/hom, she has got ample accommodation for 20 cabin, including ladiei’ cabin, boridessteerage. The Glenelg has come here chartered by tha Adelaide underwriters of the ship Hyderabad, stranded in Cook Strait. She is under the command of Captain Robert Mailler, long and favorably-known in New Zealand as master of mail and other-ateamera.
