Bills of Lading must be produced, and freight, if any, paid, before orders for delivery cau bo granted. The attention of the master must be drawn to any cargo landed in bad order before removal from the discharging shed, otherwise no claim can be recognised. In consequence of the above-named vessel, on her recent voyage from New York, having made sacrifices and incurred expenses which may form a general average claim upon the cargo, it will be necessary for consignees, before obtaining delivery, to pay a deposit of 2J (two and a-half) per cent, on the value oi their consignments, and to execute a bond to pay the correct sum, less the deposit, on the adjustment of the average.
