The following telegram was yesterday received by the Hon. the Miniser for Public Works from Mr. Conyers : Owing to the north-westers and heavy floods traffic is stopped on the -north line at the' old place, and also on the South line through two spans in the middle of Rangitata Bridge being washed away, leaving a gap of 120 ft.
