BY TELEGRAPH. LYTTELTON, Tuesday. Tho Ringarooma arrrived at 0.45, and the Taupo at 7.15 this morning from 'Wellington.

AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Tlio City of Sydney, with tbo 'Frisco mails, arrived this morning atG.ls. On tlio outward trip she left Auckland at 4 p.m. on the 23rd July, and arrived at Honolulu on tlio Gth August. After leaving Honolulu she ran ashore on a bar, and was detained there •2 hours 10 minutes; no damage was sustained. During the voyage she was stopped »'n the 13th on account of fog, and from that time until the morning of the 11th she was only working ahead at intervals. Soon after the fog clearing up she arrived at ’Frisco, 3G hours in advance of contract time. The mails were Sent East on the following morning. On the return voyage she left ’Frisco on the 2nd September, and arrived at Honolulu on the morning of the Oth ; sailed for Auckland next morning, where she arrived as above. She has the following passengers—Messrs. Hester, Newton, Hong, McNeill, George, Gummell, Webster, Gillarty, Heacock, and HalworclS ia the steerage. The Taranaki leaves Onchunga with tho Southern mails at 4 p.m. to-clay, and the Napier and Gisbomo malls will leave by the Hawea at 4 p.m. to-morrow. Sailed: Taranaki. The steamer Stonnbird, from Wanganui, left there at half-past t» on Monday evening, and arrived at the Queen's wharf at 7.30 yesterday morning. She towed the schooner Herald out of Wanganui harbor. The topsail schooner Spray arrived in harbor early yesterday morning. She brings a full cargo of «clpnial produce from Lyttelton. The ketch Elizabeth, from Pelorus Sound-, with a cargo of timber, arrived in harbor yesterday fprpnoon. The schooner I’.uby was detained, from.’leaving yesterday owing to the boisterous., weather. She will probably get away to-day. The steamer Manawatu, for Wanganui; left the wharf shortly after mid-day yesterday. The steamer Wellington, from,Plcton. and Nelson, is due here to-day. The brte llobih Hood, one of Captain. Williams's fleet, left Newcastle on Monday for-Wellington. The ‘tJ'don Company’s steamer Wan-aka, from Dunedin and- Lyttelton, arrived at the wharf at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She left Port Clxalmers at %Ao p.m, on the 3Ut, and arrived at Akaroa next morning Os; left again an hour afterwards, and tuaived in Lyttelton at *2.30.
