BY-LAW To prevent the driving of any vehicles at night without lights, and to prevent undue interference with the traffic:— 1. No person shall within the City of Wellington drive any carriage, licensed or unlicensed, during the hours between sunset and sunrise, unless the same shall have proper and sufficient lamps kept lighted for the whole time during which such carriage shall be so driven ; and for the purpose of this clause the term “ carriage” shall include every kind of wheeled vehicle drawn by animal power. 2. No person shall permit or suffer any cart, dray, or other wheeled vehicle of any kind then being used to stand or be drawn up for tlio purpose of standing in any street within the city for any purpose whatsoever, otherwise than alongside of and in a position parallel, or as nearly as may be parallel, with the footway of the street. 3. Any person committing any breach of this By-law shall be guilty of an offence, and shall bo liable to a penalty of not more than £5 (five pounds) for every such offence.
