DUNCAN is instructed by James Gilh’gan, Esq., to sell on Thursday, 19th inat., at half-past 11 o’clock, at the Panama-street saleroom, prior to the great sale of \V r AK!jr:r.r. township sections— The suburban land connected therewith, consisting of about 200 acmes, more ■ or less, which have been surveyed and laid out in allotments of from 5 acres to 10 acres each. These suburban sections -have a frontage to the main trunk line of road from Masterton to Castlepoint—commencing at Mr. O'Connor’s house, extending to the new bridge—between the road and the river. It is quite unnecessary for the auctioneer to dilate on the character of the soil. He has simply to recommend buyers to inspect the land before the day of sale. It will be found to bo unsurpassed by any in New Zealand. A portion carries some of the finest totara timber. SALE OF TOWNSHIP OF WARDELL, WAIRABAPA, Niue Miles from Masterton. MR. R. J. DUNCAN has received instructions from James Gilligau, Esq., of the Taueru, to ael; by public auction, on Thursday, 19th September, at his salerooms, Panama-street, Wellington— THE TOWNSHIP OF WARDELL about nine miles from Masterton, on the main road to Castlepoint and Napier. This township has been surveyed by J. H, Coleridge, Esq, is admirably laid out, every street and corner, section pegged and numbered, and consists of nearly 250 allotments. The size of the sections is about 1 rood; each one possesses a frontage to one of the proposed streets 50ft. wide. Lithographed plans are iu preparation, and will be ready for delivery on and after Monday, 2nd September. Wavdell is the only available site for a' township from Masterton to Castlepoint. For the past eight years Mr. Gilligan has been pressed by country settlers and residents p near Masterton, to have a township surveyed aud laid out, but until he had resolved to settle in Christchurch he steadily refused to accede to their wishes. Now that the Mangapakeha-road will ho completed iu a few mouths, settlers and visitors will be able to drive their buggies and coaches through to Castlepoint. As a daily coach is also expected shortly to run from Masterton to Castlepoint aud East Coast, there is nodoubtalargeuumber of passengers and much traffic will come by this central route to meet the railway trains from Masterton to Wellington, and to Mauawatu, Wanganui, &c. Within a few months, the iron horse will have established his head-quarters at Masterton—“ the Chicago of the Northern Island of New Zealand.” Tho Auctioneer would point out how very favorable the present sale is, therefore, for purchase, or as a speculative investment. He feels that ho is within safe limit iu stating that within twelve months the value of real property in this magnificent district will be .increased in value from four to tenfold what anyone cau expect, or that it will realise on the 19th September. To persons of limited capital it is the best aud greatest opportunity over offered in this country for many years past of making money iu a short time.
