An invitation soiree flan sail to was hold in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening last, and the weather being vex-y favorable, the itivitations were well responded to, there being quite as many present as the room would conveniently accommodate. Dancing was kept up till 3 o’clock next morning, all present appearing to thoroughly eujoy themselves. Mr. Plank, an industrious carpenter, whilst assisting to raise the frame of a house on Saturday, unfortunately fell and broke his leg. A meeting of ttie Wairarapa West County Council was held on Saturday. Present— Councillors Booth (chairman), Perry, Donald, Tally, and Fairbrother. It was resolved, on the motion of Councillor Tnlly, seconded by Councillor Donald, that the whole of the Act be brought into operation. Several men are now engaged) clearing the grounds for the Pastoral Association Snows,, and from all appearances they will not be long in completing the work.
