'Thursday, August 29. (Before T. A. Hansford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Two persons for drunkenness were dealt with in the usual way. ABSENT EROM HIS SHIP. James Stephens was charged, on remand, with being absent without leave from the barque Oarlotta. As the prosecutor did not appear the prisoner was discharged. CIVIL CASES, Judgment summonses. —Edmonds’ estate v. S. H. Ball ; claim, £8 3s. sd. Defendant was ordered to pay the amount by the 12th September, or in default to be imprisoned for four weeks,—Wellington Co-operative Society v. John Jackson ; claim, £3 12s. lid. Defendant was ordered to pay the amount by tbe same date as the above case, or four weeks’ imprisonment.—W. B. McDonough v. Thomas Friend ; claim, £3 12s. 7d. Ordered to pay the amount in two instalments, commencing September 12, or to be imprisoned for three weeks.—C. Whitehead v. G. Smart; claim, £4 9s. Ordered to pay the amount by instalments of 20s. a week. In the following cases judgment was given to the plaintiffs :—A. W. Brown v. E. Dixon ; claim, £9 2s. Id. Judgment for £8 Is. 2d.—Same v. Gustead ; claim, £2 9s. lOd. Judgment for £1 175.—0. Mclntyre v. John Biding ; claim, £2 2s. 9d. Judgment for the full amount.—Olson v, 0. Broadbent; claim, £5. Judgment for £2 and costs.
