Jacob Joseph and Co.'s request for a reduction in the account rendered for water supplied to thorn. 3. That Mr. Hickson’s application respecting the Bowen-strcet drain ha* also bean dealt with by the Council, and the committee see no reason for tieparting from tho decision previously arrived at, viz., that ho defray half the cos* thereof. The committee beg further to recommend—s._ That tho formation of Austin-stree% as requested in the memorial of Messrs, fl. Anderson and others, be completed at an estimated cost of £230. 8. That a, name-plate for Bolton-street be put up at tho corner of the Terrace. 7. That tho continuation of the drain in Taranaki-strect, as requested by Messrs. Tonks and others, b • made at a cost not exceeding €3O. S. That the whole qu stion of stands for cabs, dravs, and expresses he referred to a select committee. 9. That Mr. T. W, Mills’application for leave to erect buildings fronting an alleged right-of-way 12ft. wide be refused as contrary to the Act. 10. That the ext-a expenditure, £2OO, for increasing the water supply in accordance with tho City Surveyor’s report, be agreed to, subject to the approval of the consulting engineer. Mr, Blackett. 11. That Ghuznec-street be kerbod and channelled. 12. That Willls-strcct be at once reduced to its permanent level, as agreed to by the Council, and that tenders be at once called for the necessary work. 13. That on completion of the foregoing, Dixon-street be kerbed and channelled. 14. That tho holes in Epuni-street left by the deviation of the erode by the Corporation be at once filled up. 15. That lamps be 'erected in Little Taranakistreet and at the foot of Cuba-street, just beyond the Bank of New Zealand. 10. That about throe chains of culvert and filling-up of the roadway in Park-street be at once proceeded with. 17. That the upper end of Tory-strect be kerbed. IS. That a culvert be laid down in Ellice-street. 19. That the kerbing and footpath in Clyde-qmiy from the City Hotel to aboat tho Clyde-quay Hotel, be bt once proceeded with. 20. That accounts to the amount of £318195.- be passed for payment.
