Wakatipu, Captain Cameron, left Souths Wharf, Sydney, on the 15th, at 5 p.m.. cleared the Heads at (5.30, made Capo Farewel on the 20th, and arrived in harbor at 7 p.ra. same day. Experienced fine weather nil the way across She brines fifty passengers and 1000 tons general freight. 350 tons being for this port, the remainder for Lyttelton and Dunedin. We thank Mr. Grant, the purser, for report and files. The steamer Napier left for Blenheim last night shortly after 10 o’clock. The steamer Alhambra left yesterday afternoon for Melbourne via the South. •he steamer Taupo arrived at the wharf at 11 ye terday morning She left Port Chalmers at 4 p in. on Saturday, and arrived H Akaroa at 8 a.m. on 1 the 18th ; sailed at 10 a.m., and arrived at Lyttelton at 2 30 pin same day; left at 5 p m. on Monday, had a N.W. breeze and ueavy sea till 8 a ra.. when the wind veered round to the westward, arriving as above. She leaves for the North to-day. The steamer Rangatira, for Napier, left yesterday 1 afternoon. The learner Stormbird, for Wanganui, leaves this forenoon. The ship Medea is making good progress with her cargo. She leaves here for Java, where she will load sua.ar, on the ship’s account, for London. The barque Chaudiere left yesterday afternoon, and got well clear of the land wl h a fine breeze. The fine Iron ship Abeona arrived safely in harbor late on vtonday night, after a passage of 103 days ; from London. She lias ecconn cred some very severe ; weather during the parage, and has received considerable damage. She brings thirteen pusenrcrs, who have arrived in good health Captain Groshart report* leaving Gravesend on the Ist May, and was off the Lizard on the sth. She experienced light westerly winds and thick weather in the Chan el. After getting clear of the land had ten days’strong S.\A. and S. gales, especially in the Bay of Biscay, when it blew very hard. From thence had fine weather until c osslng the Lino on tho sth June. TheS.E. trades were light, and only lasted a week. Passed the meridian of the Cape of Good Ho"e on tho 7th July. On the 15th July she encountered a terrific gale from the H.W.. with a tremendous sea. The ship was hove-to for forty-eight hours, during which time a mountain of a sea broke on board—started the main hatch, smashed the lo ig boat, and stove in tho bulwarks on the port aide, besides doing other damage on deck- . The ship had to be put before the gale, and she ran 3GO miles to the north out of her course for safety. Cape Leuwln was passed on the 3lst July in lat. -iudeg. S.; from thence had strong N.E. and N. winds, leading her into sldeg. S. As there appeared to bo no probability of the wind changing, Captain ! Groshart ca >'e south about. The Snares were sighted on the Uth Inst. Variable weather was experienced , along tho coast until arrival. The Abeona is a fine Iron ship, built by Messrs. Stephens, of Glasgow, !'• 18(57. She will bo brought in to the wharf to-day, and commence discharging to-morrow.
