A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOK OF THE HEW ZEALAND TIMES Sir, —Would you allow mo to correct an error in the report of the Wellington Racing Club’s meeting which took place last evening. Your reporter makes me say that the sum of €566 6s. was collected “in one clay” at last November meeting at Christchurch, as proceeds of the extension of the railway to the racecourse. What I intended to convey to the club was that this amount was the resuh of “one meeting,” and, as is pretty well known, the November meeting lasts three days. As I would not wish to mislead those who may think weU of the proposed extension of the railway from Petone to the Hutfc racecourse, I shall feel obliged by your giving this letter space in your issue of to-morrow. — f am, &c., A.
