Young, Maddock, Risthio, Waite, Parker, Dickenson, and Gregory. BLUFF. Tuesday. The Tararna arrived at 2.15 p.m. to-day. She left Melbourne on the 7th at 11 a.m., and arrived at Hobarton on the 9lh at 6 a.m.; left at 8 p.m. same day. Fine weather was experienced throughout. She brings 400 tons cargo, 18 saloon, and 9 steerage passengers for all ports. The Tararna sails to-morrow for Dunedin. Passengers for Wellington; Mr. and Master Collis and 3 steerage, and 30 tons cargo. Saxleh: Swordfish, for Lyttelton. WEATHER REPORT. The following vessels were in harbor last night:— H M. 3. Nymphe ; steamers—Taranaki, Luna. Kiwi, and Wallaca; ships—Caitloch, Pleione, and Medea ; barqncs*-Ctmudlere, Chasca. Whittington, Elizabeth, G. M. Tucker, Anne Melhuish, Conner, New Brunswick, and Alma; brig—Jane; brigantines—Endeavor and Enterpiise. The steamer Luna, from the West Coast, arrived at the wharf at half-past 7 last evening. She left the coast last Monday morning, and had moderate weather for the first part of the passage. Came through the French Pass at 10 yesterday morning with a strong N.W. gale, which lasted until off Terawiti; from thence fine weather and head sea. Captain Bascand reports seeing a barque and a brig at anchor in Guard Bay. evidently bound to the west. We thank Captain Bascand for report. The steamer Taranaki left Dunedin wharf at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday; cleared Taiaroa Heads at 3.30 p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton next morning at 9.30; discharged 85 tons cargo, and loaded 100 tons; sailed again for Wellington at 7.30 same night, arriving here at 5.30 last evening. She experienced light variable winds, with smooth sea, till arrival at Lyttelton: thence to arrival here strong northerly winds, with heavy head sea. Wo thank M-. Kennedy, the purser, for report. The brig Jane cleared at the Customs yesterday for Newcastle. The steamers Stormbird for Wanganui, and Eangatira for Napier and Poverty Bay, sailed last evening. The steamer Wellington, from Nelson and Picton, Is due here to-day. The schooner Janet Ramsay, for Wanganui, has taken the last of the railway iron from the barque Whittington. The ship Pleione will in all probability get away on Thursday. She goes to Melbourne The repairs to the barque Anne Melhuish are nearly completed, and are being effected in a most satisfactory manner. The barque Elizabeth is now being put shipshape again. She will shortly bo ready for sea. She leaves here for Newcastle for a cargo of coal consigned to a Lyttelton firm. The steamer Kiwi steamed round to the Patent Slip yesterday afternoon for an overhaul. The steamer Wallace, from Nelson, arrived at the wharf at 8 o’clock yesterday morning. She left Nelson the previous evening at half-past 5 o’clock. She leaves again to-day. The steamer Jane Douglas left Wanganui at 8.15 p.m. on Monday and arrived here at 9 o'clock yesterday morning. She leaves for Foxton to-day. The topsail schooner Mansion, from Kaipara, arrived in harbor yesterday morning with another CArgo of timber.
The barque Alma was shifted from the wharf yesterday, She sails to-day. The ships io the harbor had their flags at half-mast yesterday on account of the death of the sailmaker belonging to the barque Whittington.
