CHORAL HALL.

TO THE EDITOR OK THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, — I see by your issue of this day that the Artillery Company are unable to find any hall largo enough to give their annual ball in. I am further informed that no suitable chamber can be found in which to give the annual Assembly balls, and I hear that his Worship the Mayor was debarred from issuing more invitations to his dinner because there was no room large enough in the Corporation buildings to accommodate his guests. As the ratepayers are so terribly against the proposal to erect a Town Hall, I think I have a very good argument for obtaining a site ou reasonable terms to supply this growing necessity.—l am, &c., Richd. Effingham Plimpton. August 9, 1878.
