The following report from the Public Works Committee will be brought up : 1. TJiat tho committee see no reason to alter their T'rovioua decision in the matter of Town Belt sections 12 and 13, proposed to be taken as a recreation reserve. 2. A. letter from the Colonial Secretary In reply to tjie report of the Cemetery Committee has been referred to the Council. 3. As also the report of the City Surveyor on the estimated coat of completion and formation of tho various streets of the city, rhe committee beg further to recommend 4. That an expenditure of £l5O be incurred in repairs aud making good the footpath in ‘Waliaco-atreot. 5. That tho application for repai s to Palmer-street be not entertained, the same being a private street formed without the consent of tho Council. 0. That a few of the improved street lamps brought under the notice of tho committee by Councillor Q orge be imported on trial to meet'the next requirements for lamps. 7. That Boulcott-street bo repaired at the dis rotion of the City Surveyor 8. That crossing* be laid down in Manners-street at Cuba-streot, St. Hillstreet, and Willis-stroet. D. That the approaches to Lawrence-streot be levelled at a cost of £2O. 10. That Town Bolt sections 4 and sbo fenced in by the City Surveyor without 1 tender. 11. That Instructions be given for issuing tho neccessary notices for having all nnfonced lands abutting on the public streets fenced In forthwith. 12. That Mrs. Loudon’s claim to bo recouped part of tho c st fo covering in the To Aro Stream though her property be not entertained. 13. That the City Surveyor be specially instructed to put on carts at once to fill in the holes in the streets in To Aro and Cook Wards. 14. That applications be made to tho Wellington Gas Company for a reduction in the price of gas charged to the Corporation. 15. That all persons occupying dwellings in any portion of the Town Belt receive fourteen days notice to quit, and. failing their so doing, that they be ejected without further notice. 10. That accounts amounting to £077 9s. 4d. be passed for payment. .
